My 4th annual posting of a mostly gravel ride in Michaux State Forest. Last year, for the first time, I got 4 riders. Quite hilly with 5500' of elevation gain over 52 miles. First 13 miles are quite hilly and then it gets easier. There is a very short section of double track, otherwise mostly fire/dirt roads Lunch/snack at mile 35 in Pine Grove Furnace, home of the famous 1/2 gallon ice cream challenge for AT thru hikers (free if you eat all the ice cream in 30 minutes I think). I use 700x42 tires but you could get by with thinner tires (recommend 35mm minimum).

Note 1: There are 2 shortcuts: 1 - skips the 3rd climb, 2 - skips the last long gravel section and 4th climb. So you are welcome to come even if you doubtful you can complete. Skip the 3rd or 4th or both climbs. I'll bring cue sheets with all options included. 

Note 2: Park in the gravel parking lot on Pine Grove Furnace Rd (Rte 233) just north of Lincoln Hwy (Rte 30) near Caledonia State Park in Pa (Caledonia Furnace Monument & Thaddeus Stevens Trailhead).
