Please join me for a leisurely ride through the Gettysburg battlefield. This is an annual ride for the Oxon Hill Club and Potomac Pedalers led by my friend Steve, and I am co-leading for the BBC. We will start in Emmitsburg and ride up to Fairfield on the way to the battlefield, where we will cover most of the park including the Round Tops, Culp's Hill and Devil's Den. This year will also be our first time riding through the northern part of the battlefield. The battlefield portion of the route is best enjoyed with everyone riding together, as some of the turns are easy to miss, and we may stop a few times for a closer look at a monument or to climb an observation tower, depending on people's interests. Rest stops are planned at stores in Fairfield and Gettysburg. There is no restroom at one of the stores in Gettysburg so restroom/portolet opportunities in the battlefield park will also be noted on the cue sheet.
