The ride start is at the I70 Park & Ride on Route#66N, about fifty minutes west from the Baltimore beltway (same distance as Thurmont). This is a variation of the Gold Fish Pond ride from the BBC Washington County weekend. This is one of our favorite top five rides in the area with low traffic, rolling terrain (with some hills - 2900' gain), country setting, and great views from Edgemont & Crystal falls roads. There are two rest stops; one at mile 20 (Misty Mountain Creamery - homemade ice cream), and one at mile 30 (Smithsburg Lions Park - restroom only). Cue sheets will be available for a 39 and 33 mile option - the first 20 miles are the same for both. No restrooms at the ride start, however, this is a Rest Area on I70 a few miles before the ride start exit.
Dir: From the Baltimore beltway: Take I70 (50min) to exit #35 (Smithsburg/Boonesboro), right on Route #66 (Mapleville Rd), then 1/2 block north to the P&R on the right. Any questions on day of ride, call 240-308-3648.
