The ride start is at the I70 Park & Ride on Route#66N, about one hour west of the Baltimore beltway. This is a variation of the Gold Fish Pond ride from the BBC Washington County weekend. We have ridden this ride several times and it has become our favorite for it's low-traffic route, mostly rolling terrain (with some hills - 2900' gain), country setting, and breath-taking views from Edgemont and Crystal Falls road. We feel it is worth the drive. There are two rest stops; one at mile 20 (Misty Mountain Creamery), and one at mile 30 (Smithsburg Lions Park. No restroom at the ride start, however, there is a Sheetz one mile south of the ride start on route#66.
Dir: From the Baltimore beltway; Take I70W to Exit #35 (Smithsburg/Boonesboro), right on Route 66 (Mapleville Rd), then 1/2 block north to the P&R on the right. Any questions call cell; 240-308-3648. Hope to see you there, and bring your camera.
