The ride begins and ends at the Carroll County Agricultural Center, site of the weekly Carroll County Farmers' Market. This Saturday, August 10, is the annual Peach Festival which means that after the ride you can buy peach jam, peach cobbler, peach pie, peach bread, peaches, and of course peach ice cream, as well as the usual assortment of August vegetables. There's plenty of parking and hopefully at 8-ish when we arrive there will not be many vehicles. The cue sheets are from the "Eat a Peach" rides that used to be held this wkend every year. We head south of the Ag Center on roads that may be familiar: Salem Bottom Road, Buffalo Road; and places that may be familiar: Winfield Elementary School and Mt Airy Elementary School.
A couple of caveats: I have not ridden these routes since approximately 2015, when I think there was the last Eat-a-Peach ride. There are no obvious rest stops, that I recall, because they provided their own set up at designated spots. Let's re-group at Mt. Airy Elementary School, which is at 21 miles. Sometimes schools have spot-a-pots. Bring plenty of water and snacks. Also, I don't have this as a GPS although if someone rides this and records it, that would be great for next year!
Meet at the pavilion near the entrance to the Ag Center.
