Baltimore Bicycling Club 2025 End of the Year Celebration Volunteer Recognition Luncheon Annual Meeting

A big thank you to Gloria Epstein and John and Jane Cole for another wonderful End of Year Celebration! About 100 club members came out to the grand banquet room at Oregon Ridge Park. Delicious food from Andy Nelson's, lots of cycling friends, and recognition of the wonderful volunteers and dedicated ride leaders—who make the BBC a club so many of us love—made for a very enjoyable and memorable afternoon.
Awardees recognized for their outstanding contributions to the BBC include: Gary Flax for the Barbara Park Award; David Schallich for the Wayne Rodgers Award; Steve Zeldin for the Human Dynamo Award. Thanks to Gary, David, and Steve for all of their great work this year on behalf of the BBC! Nigel Samaroo was selected to be a member of the BBC Hall of Fame. Nigel’s longstanding contributions and advocacy for bicycle safety are noteworthy. His excellence and passion, on behalf of bicycle safety, came through earlier in the afternoon when he reported on the year’s efforts to make cycling safer for all of us—thank you Nigel.
Nabil Ali and Adriana Pukalski will once again be BBC President and Vice President for 2026. Thanks to both of them, and all of the Executive Board, for all of their tireless efforts.
Reports by all Board officers were given during the annual meeting component of the celebration. Award certificates and gifts were presented to the awardees.
Ride leaders are the heart and soul of the club and the BBC has some great ride leaders!
The top ride leaders for 2025 include: Carl Boyd, 114 rides; Mark Tabb, 88 rides; Steve Zeldin, 74 rides; Eugene Bayer, 48 rides; Gary Kelly, 39 rides; Gloria Epstein, 38 rides, Gene Young, 36 rides; Renee Faison, 20 rides; John McCauley, 17 rides; Greg Fromme, 16 rides; Lanny Evans, 12 rides; Bob Rohlfing, 10 rides; and Linda Evans, 10 rides. Thanks to these leaders and all who have led rides in 2025! New ride leaders are especially welcome, and we have many excellent mentors who can help you join this crucial club cadre.
The Baltimore Bicycling Club has too many great volunteers to mention here—they are the life-blood of the club! Please consider joining this dedicated group who make the BBC a family for cyclists. Thanks again Gloria, John, and Jane for another great event and thanks to all of you who keep the BBC spinning along smoothly throughout the year.
