A Note From the BBC President

The new BBC Board had its first meeting in early January to tackle several pending agenda items. For the sake of transparency, I intend to periodically inform the membership of developments that could be of interest to most. This will consist of a) what has been accomplished, b) what is in the works, and c) what are your needs, in other words, an ongoing process of “needs assessment.”

2023 END OF YEAR CELEBRATION

115 BBC members and a few guests attended the End of Year Celebration on November 11 at Oregon Ridge.  The afternoon festivities began at 1:00 as people crowded into the former ski lodge.  The buffet lunch provided by Andy Nelson’s Barbecue was plentiful and delicious, with enough food for people to enjoy second servings.  Graul’s carrot cake, as always, did not disappoint.

Larry Kenney gave an excellent presentation about the 2023 Civil War Century (CWC) finances and rider survey feedback.  The proceeds from this event are a significant source of income for the BBC budget.

End of Year Celebration and
2024 Board of Directors Election

The Baltimore Bicycling Club held the 2024 Board of Directors election and the End-of-Year Celebration on Sat. afternoon, Nov. 11, 2023. 
 
The 2024 Board of Directors will be:
President: Nabil Ali
Vice President: Ellen Hochman
Secretary: Steve Zeldin
Treasurer: David Schallich

Washington County Getaway 2023 Wrap-up

The Washington County Getaway event held Friday, October 13 through Sunday, October 15 has come and gone, but memories may remain for the 29 Baltimore Bicycling Club members who had registered to attend the event.

Mike Harris

It is with great sadness that we are informing you of the sudden and unexpected passing of Mike Leo Harris. Beloved Husband of Marg Draper-Harris, friend and family member. Mike was a well-known member of several bike clubs including: The Baltimore Bike Club, Potomac Pedalers Bike Club and HoCo Cyclist and participated and raced in many cycling events throughout the years. Mike was the 16&Over Coordinator for the BBC.
