Susquehanna Paradise LONG ride

Susquehanna Paradise LONG ride

On Sunday, 6/12, I plan to ride an as yet untested 158 mile route from Carroll Park up and around Lancaster, PA.
The date is the same as Tour dem Parks so, the ride will not go up on the schedule, nor will it be an official Rando Ramble. I'll begin the ride at Lake Montebello, ride up to Carroll Park and continue from there. Anyone who begins in the city will be riding a 300K for the day.

Currently my route is here: http://www.bikely.com/maps/bike-path/514111
It is an amalgam of BBC routes, PA state bike routes, Walt and Carol's Lancaster routes and much advice from various other riders.
I'll probably intersect with Carroll Park around 6:30AM, and start an hour earlier from Montebello. Anyone interested in keeping me company for a LONG day in the saddle and hopefully a great scenic roll through MD/PA please contact me.

Re: Susquehanna Paradise LONG ride

Carl,

This one would be a long way from your doorstep. Isaias seems to be committed current/wink to riding with me and we may have another.
Weather is due to be nice enough for this long distance slog. I plan on heading out into the darkness at 5AM sunday, sleep-riding to Lake Montebello, then up to Performance Bikes at Perring and Satyr Hill to meet Isaias and Jack, another rider, where we'll begin the approach to the first of many big climbs: Manor rd.

The plan for the day is ride, ride, ride and take it nice and easy. I'll have close to 200 miles when (if) I get home. I'm hoping it'll still be light by then.

Anyone who is interested in joining the fun, please email me. Route is here: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/463363

200 miles divided by 15 hours daylight = 13.3 mph avg. (not including reststops)deduct 1 hour for reststops = 14.2 avg
GOOD LUCK :-)

Re: Susquehanna Paradise LONG ride

Who needs daylight, when we have lights.

Whoops... I guess I better make sure Jack knows to have good lights!

Bob & Isaias,
I'm hatching  a plan to meet you  near the md line, near  mile 32 on the cue . I think there's an exxon station / rest stop there?
what time do you anticipate being there?

Madness has you! I would guess we'd get near Norrisville and Draco around 8AM. We'll keep an eye out, but we've got a lot o ground to cover so we may just roll right past. hope to catch ya in the AM.  -sleepy rando B
