BMore Streets for People plan meeting 8 Sept 2011, Flynn's Ale House

BMore Streets for People plan meeting 8 Sept 2011, Flynn's Ale House

About ten of us attended the BMore Streets for People Advisory Board meeting at the Planning Dept. Thursday 11 August. We discussed several issues. Our next milestone will be the presentation we make to a roomful of Baltimore neighborhood association and commercial association leaders. It will be on 8 September, at Flynn's Ale House on North Ave. After the presentation, we will ask neighborhoods to propose their preferred ciclovia routes. Plan to be there.  Further ahead, the next City ciclovia will be on 25 September, in Roland Park (assuming we get the permit, etc.) Plan to be there, too. If you were nominated to the Advisory Board, please act now to have your City Council hearing and your swearing in. We need everyone to do the needful here.

Re: BMore Streets for People plan meeting 8 Sept 2011, Flynn's Ale House

I'm looking forward to hearing more about Streets for People.  About 30 years ago I formed a group with that same name here in Baltimore.  We had a few very small successes.  I was also active in Baltimore Area Bicyclists Association, which had a terrific Baltimore Commuter Challenge -- cars. vs. bikes -- that got a lot of press..  I'm just now back in Baltimore after 12 years away in Cambridge, MA, and am looking for a way to participate.
