Washington County Getaway

Washington County Getaway

To Rich Burns,
Thanks for orchestrating such a fine bicycling and culinary weekend in Washington County , MD.    I include culinary because of the delicious array of food that we enjoyed at Ed & Mary’s, the Dixie Tavern, and the Bulls and Bears.   It’s amazing how Washington County, a destination not so far from home, can be such a special, memorable getaway.
My wife and I enjoyed the camaraderie and spirit that typify BBC events – that upbeat attitude and friendliness that helps us feel like part of the group and insures a fun time.
I’m sure everyone appreciates your continuing oversight of this event (10+ years) and those who also worked very hard to make it special (Ed & Mary, Walt, and others of whom I may not be aware).
We will remember the rides with the panoramic views and historical surroundings, but moreover we will remember the good times: meeting and talking with others on the rides and enjoying the party-like atmosphere at the group gatherings.
We look forward to next year’s event.
Great job!

I echo that sentiment.  My first venture there but not my last.

Re: Washington County Getaway

Yup!  The Getaway is a nice one.  The company seems to be what makes it, but the cue sheets are great, Rich did a fantastic job on them.  scenery was beautiful for the rides and weather cooperated to make it all enjoyable.  Food was fantastic, can't say enough about Ed & Mary Jarcie's celebration Friday, but the company was what made it so nice.  I'd come back even for a rained out weekend!   Just don't let the secret get out.  Its intimacy might be one of its assets.

Happy trails,
