It is really good to see all that is going on
Category: Social

One of the best things about the old forum was the richness and variety of the postings. We all got everything.

I recommend collapsing all of the forums into one again so that we all get all the messages.  I hate the thought that some people might only subscribe to the ride change forum and miss all of the advocacy discussions.  People can make certain kinds of discussions invisible to them. I would take away that option. People can always delete a message on a subject they are interested in. They don't have to read it. But they would at least know that something is happening.

I think the multiple forums that now exist will contribute to a Balkanization of the club that is undesirable.  (I have long wanted to use that word in a sentence!)

Let's collapse the forums into one again so that we are again "on the same page" and members of the same community.  (What we read DOES determine what community we are a member of.)

Other thoughts on this?

Ed

The new BBC software is sending you a message: you don't do enough for the club.

I found myself "volunteered" for everything too. I embraced the call to do more for the club.

I actually research it sometimes
Category: Social

I search the old Forum for information on cycling eye glasses, advocacy disputes, old road closings, or discussions about bike maintenance or bike saddles.  I would hate to lose all that.

Any way to capture it and save it? or can we just leave it there, close it for new stuff, but have a pointer to it for such research?  Or is something like this the plan?

All emails now have the subject "Subscription Subject"
Category: Social

Will

I had stated in the "description" part of my initial posting what CCTREKKER states: The Subject of the email message is always "Subscription Subject" no matter what the thread.

That part of my posting just got lost somehow. What does happen to the "description" part of the posting? (If it always goes into a black hole, can you disable entry into it?

It looks like you understood my message and the latest email messages I have gotten do have the Topic subject as the email subject--so they are as interesting as they used to be.  (Which, I grant, is pretty boring at times...)

thanks

Could the email subject have the topic of the thread like it used to? I used to be able to scan the subjects of my incoming BBC emails and see which ones I was interested in. Now I have to open them up.  Any way to tweak the software to give us something better here?

I do understand this might be a down the road enhancement.

thanks
