BBC's 37th ANNUAL INSTRUCTIONAL CYCLING SERIES
Due to the uncertain conditions this year caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic, everything that follows is tentative and subject to change. Please check back at this BBC website for any changes and updates.
The BALTIMORE BICYCLING CLUB'S very popular Instructional Cycling Series will begin with a virtual orientation to be held via Zoom on Sunday, May 16, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Pre-registration is required in order to receive the Zoom invitation.
This series is offered to anyone over 16 years of age interested in learning the basic skills of cycling, including doing minor road repairs and improving as a rider. For new riders, we can help you find your best riding level and develop so you can ride on the BBC casual rides by the end of the series. Experienced riders can meet other BBC members and learn about group riding. The cycling series will cover both road and recreational trail riding. And we do have something for faster riders, athletes and charity riders wanting to work on their gearing, cycling techniques and road skills. We will be maintaining an email list and will use this list to communicate any last-minute instructions.
At the beginning of each ride as well as during any group rest breaks any non-fully-vaccinated participant must wear a mask properly covering their mouth and nose and practice physical distancing. We will be breaking into small groups for the actual rides.
ORIENTATION– Sunday, May 16, 2021 – Zoom Virtual Session at 10:30 a.m. During the orientation, we will discuss cycling skills and techniques, bicycles, equipment and clothing and answer any questions about the program. We will watch a short, informative video on cycling safety and bike handling.
RIDE SCHEDULE– (Note that all rides start at 10:00 a.m., not 10:30)
