2013 November End of Season Celebration - Jeffrey H. Marks

2013 November End of Season Celebration - Jeffrey H. Marks

The BBC Board would appreciate hearing from you on whether you prefer to have the Nov 2013 End of Season Celebration on Sunday 5 - 9 pm at Oregon Ridge Lodge, or if you would rather switch to a different location, possibly the Md State Fish & Game Hall in Perry Hall, to be able to have the Celebration on Saturday.  Arguments for having the Celebration on Saturday include not having to go to work the next day and getting in a little more riding time with a later Sat Celebration ( 6 - 10pm or 7 - 11pm).  Reasons for having the Celebration 5 - 9 pm Sunday at Oregon Ridge  include (1) the familiar central location, fire, and atmosphere and (2) reducing conflicts with friends & families & other social activities. Spreading Holiday Season Events over the entire weekend rather than just Saturday allows busy people to enjoy more activities.  Please let the BBC Board know whether you prefer Sat at a different location or Sunday at Oregon Ridge.

I just wish to mention that Oregon Ridge Lodge is booked for all fall Saturdays in 2013.

Also, a Sunday celebration might interfere with watching your Super Bowl Champion Ravens.  Schedule is not out yet, but that is a consideration.

End of Season Celebration Scheduling - Jeffrey H. Marks

The EOS Celebration is well before the playoffs and the Super Bowl.  And football games can be anytime Saturday or Sunday.  In fact the Ravens recently defeated  Denver in a game that began 4:30 pm east coast time on SATURDAY, Jan 12.  Especially with the football schedule not having been set, I don't see the possibility of a football game being a good reason to black out SATURDAY or SUNDAY.

Well, the Ravens reguialrly play 4 PM games on Sundays, especially if they are playing on the West Coast.  And if they win the Super Bowl it is more likely that they would be scheduled for the  4 PM time because this is where the networks prefer to put the prime games.

I am a Steelers fan, so the Ravens schedule matters not to me, unless they are playing the Steelers...

Seems pretty obvious that there is a misunderstanding about events and dates. Jeffrey is talking about NOVEMBER 2013
I don't think there's a super bowl then.

Re: 2013 November End of Season Celebration - Jeffrey H. Marks

Sorry if this is off topic, but my original post said that a celebration on a Sunday (meaning a Sunday in November of 2013) might interfere with watching your Super Bowl Champions (notice they are not yet Super Bowl Champions, I was trying to be optimistic) on their way to defending their Super Bowl Title.  I had assumed that many riders here were also Ravens fans and would like to be able to watch the Ravens on a Sunday next November, hence my comment about the schedule not being out yet.  I thought that might be a consideration in your planning a celebration in November (which is during football season, no?).  I have managed in my almost 6 decades on this earth to learn that the Super Bowl is not in November.

I' m done.
