I just wanted to pass along that on the BBC Facebook page, we have received several comments praising the organization, the food and the volunteers of the Civil War Century.  Congratulations again on another successful Civil War Century and kudos to everyone who helped make the BBC CWC event a resounding success.  Without the hard work of everyone involved, our bike club event would not be the success it is year after year!

Update: George has been discharged from the hospital!!

Hi everyone
George wanted me to post an update regarding how he is doing.  For those of you who do not know, George was riding in Wisconsin on a bike tour earlier this week and he crashed resulting in 9 broken ribs with a flail chest, 2 non-displaced pelvic fractures, broken clavicle and scapula, hemopneumothorax and lung contusions and lots of road rash.  He does not remember what happened and his helmet did sustain quite a bit of damage, fortunately no head injury so the helmet did what it was supposed to do.  He was taken to the University of Wisconsin where he is currently undergoing treatment.  George is in good spirits and he sounds much better than he looks.  He has been able to walk during PT.  His broken ribs will not need surgery and the orthopedic surgeons will be evaluating his fractures in his scapula and clavicle to see if he will require surgery.  His wife Pat is with him in Wisconsin.

I will post further updates as they are received.

What Ed said about printing the phone number on the wristbands...thought that was an excellent idea as well. Another wonderful CWC and thanks to all the volunteers and the organizing/planning committee.
