2026 BBC Winter Social

A very big thank you to Mary Ellen and Bob McLewee, for an afternoon of good food, friends, and fun, at St. John’s parish hall. Delicious pizza, salad, desserts, and drinks amply fed the 69 who joined the celebration on a sunny March afternoon.  It was a pleasure to see smiling members, new and old, sharing tales of good times past and those yet to be.

St. John’s church, in horse and cycling country, was the perfect place to gather winter-weary cyclists for some fun and hope for the riding days to come. It was in this beautiful hall, in 2018, where the BBC celebrated its 50^th anniversary. Many a happy mile has been cycled along Butler and Belmont roads in pastoral Greenspring Valley. The sun’s golden rays falling upon resting fields reminds us that Spring will soon be here and pedals will soon be spinning.

Mary Ellen is a wonderful host—her warm and gracious way made everyone feel welcome. Thanks also to Nabil, Adriana, and the BBC board for helping to make this Winter Social happen.
