2022 Civil War Century Success!

The weather was perfect for our signature event this year! Thanks so much to the volunteers who helped to make the 2022 Civil War Century a successful event. Just behind the reflections on the perfect weather, feedback among riders included praise for our volunteer staff.

Almost 1200 riders enjoyed the event. While the majority of the riders came from nearby Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, and DC, participants traveled from over 30 states. The success of our event reflects well on the Baltimore Bicycling Club, projecting a positive nationwide image for our organization.

Mark your calendar for Saturday, September 9, 2023, for an encore performance next year!

Greencastle Great Escape Weekend

June 10-12, 2022

The Eighth Annual Greencastle Great Escape Weekend was held in early June.  As usual about 25 people pre-registered and most of them drove out to Franklin County, PA to bike on Friday.  Some riders were fortunate to observe a newly born buffalo calf take its first faltering steps toward its mom and have its first meal.

But Mother Nature didn’t smile on us this year for the rest of the weekend.  With rain in the forecast and then actually falling from the skies on Saturday morning, only 8 hardy riders pedaled out from Antrim Township Community Park in the afternoon for a 37 mile ride.  On Sunday a group of 8 cyclists enjoyed biking in the gently rolling landscape of the Cumberland Valley.

Thanks to Phil Manger for organizing this event for our club.
