Scenic, rolling ride in Carroll and Frederick Counties with one big climb up Mt Hope Rd. Rest stop options in Fairfield (mile 29) and Emmittsburg (mile 39). Approximately 2700 ft of climbing. We'll stop briefly at a park with port-a-pot at mile 18 before beginning the big climb. Fast descent into Fairfield. Lunch/snack/ice cream at Sanders Square in Fairfield on Rt 116, about  0.5 mi from Iron Springs Rd. Look for the signs and flags on the left shortly after St Mary's Cemetery and the Fairfield Lodge - it's set back off the road and also has a small covered pavilion.  Restrooms available inside.
