This is a low traffic, very scenic, hilly out-and-back on Skyline Drive in Shenandoah National Park. Ride starts at the north entrance gate in Front Royal, Mile 0. The turnaround point is at Skyland at Mile 41. There is also a rest stop at the Elkwallow Wayside around Mile 24 that we will re-group at both going out and returning.
You will likely average ~2 mph slower on Skyline Drive than on the typical Baltimore County BBC rides!
Since this is an out-and-back and there are numerous overlooks and the Dickey Ridge Visitor Center at Mile 5, the ride can be shortened.
There is a fee to enter the park (bikes are less expensive than cars). I have a season pass that will allow 4 cyclists to enter.
Meet at Skyline High School, about 1 mile from the north entrance gate to Skyline Drive.
There is no cue sheet for the ride since it's pretty straightforward.
