As someone told me recently "it's all about the challenge"? (I was going to insert an explanation mark but decided on a question mark-whatever that means).
Windchill Thursday night is 13 degrees. The highest windchill for the ride day is 33 degrees, so figure most of the ride will be in the 20's, and maybe a lower windchill?
If the roads have moisture or any other reason (like sanity) I will cancel by 8:30am.
BTW-the first half of this ride is very hilly and muscles and lungs are not efficient at these temperatures, so expect this to be a major challenge.
100% paved roads. Will bring "Formatted" cue sheets.
Great restaurant to eat on South Main Street (R on Main Street- top of hill-Brown's Cafe). We will only stop if the group decides to do so.
Bonus-There is now a porta-potty at the ride start!
Address-Heritage Rail Trail Centerville Parking Lot-Glen Rock, 3437 Seven Valleys Rd., Glen Rock, PA 17327 (37 easy driving minutes from #695/#83N).
We start on the rail trail parking lot on the north side of Glen Rock, just off of Rt 616. From I-83 (exit 8) take Rt 216 W (a few turns to stay on Rt 216 W) and go straight onto Rt 616. Lot is 100 yards on Right after it turns into Rt 616. Make sure you go to the Glenrock Heritage Parking Lot.
